A site that strives to introduce the Net's best nature videographers to those nature lovers who will appreciate their work.


1 - The Florida Nature Video Series
Phil and Kathy Tanny present over 100 film clips from their travels to some of the best natural areas in north Florida. Movies are offered in both downloadable full screen Quicktime files, and web viewable flash videos.


2 - Macaw
This Macaw is a large colorful bird from Central and South America. It has a strong beak for cracking open Brazil nuts, and bright feathers to attract attention.


3 - Duck
The Common White Eye Duck is a rare Western European duck. It's a threated species which is declining due to loss of habitat and over hunting.


4 - River Rapids
A selection of shots taken at Big Shoals State Park, home of Florida's largest river rapids.


5 - Dolphin
Dolphins can swim 20 mph, weigh 300-500 lbs, and have a lifespan of about 50 years. Each dolphin has a signature whistle unique to that individual. They swallow food whole and use 3 stomachs to digest it.


6 - Snowy Egret
Snowy Egrets were hunted almost to extinction for their fine plumes used to decorate hats. These egrets have black beaks and yellow feet, and are about 1/2 the size of Great Egrets.

11 - Tricolored Heron
You can identify a Tricolor Heron by the white stripe running down the front of their neck. You'll sometimes see them standing erect, with their bills pointed skyward.

The surf crashes on to rocks on a beach in northeast Florida.


13 - Lake
Here's a tranquil lake scene near the St. Johns River, east of Palatka Florida.


14 - Hippo
Are there hippos in Florida? There's at least one! Here's Lu, a resident at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.

16 - Pelican
Pelicans bask in the light of sunset in the harbor of Fernandina Beach Florida. Brown pelicans are unique, in that they are the only pelican that dives from the air in to the water to catch their food.


17 - Wood Ducks
Wood ducks have been called America's most beautifully colored duck. They like to make their nests in tree holes that have been created by squirrels or woodpeckers.


18 - Great Egret Chicks
This nest of Great Egret chicks was filmed in St. Augustine Florida. The parents take turns protecting the nest, and hunting for fish to feed the babies. When the chick are about a month old they begin to leave the nest and live on their own.


19 - Pier Sunrise
Kick back and enjoy the sun rising over the Atlantic at the Flagler Beach pier, on Florida's east coast.


20 - Manatees
We found these Manatees in Fanning Springs, on the Suwannee River in central Florida. Manatees usually weigh about 1,000 pounds, but can grow up to 3,000 pounds.


21 - Beach Sunrise
We caught this beautiful winter sunrise on St. George Island, in the Florida panhandle.


22 - Gator
Alligators are common throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. Gators can grow to weigh more than half a ton on a diet of fish, turtles and snails.


23 - River Rapids
Let the sound of the Big Shoals river rapids wash away your cares. Filmed on the Suwannee River in north central Florida.


24 - Turtle
Try as we might, we couldn't determine whether this is a cooter or a slider, both common Florida turtles. This turtle was seen basking on a log in Oleno State Park on the Sante Fe River in north Florida.


25 - Beach Surf
Relax in the waves of the Atlantic near Flagler Beach, on Florida's east coast.


26 - Flamingos
Flamingos get their pink color from their diet of mostly shrimp. Flamingos are very social birds, but they argue with each other quite a bit. The arguments rarely lead to injuries.


27 - Great Blue Heron
We filmed this Great Blue Heron hunting on the LaChua Trail, in Gainesville Florida. Great Blue Herons are the largest and heron in the United States. They are about 4 feet tall, and can fly up to 30 miles per hour.


28 - Monk Parakeet
We filmed this Monk Parakeet at the bird feeder in Mom's backyard in Davie Florida. Monk Parakeets came from South America, but are now common throughout North America as imported birds escaped from shipping crates during the 1960's.


29 - Suwannee River
Take off your shoes and cool your feet in the gentle currents of the Suwannee River in north Florida.


30 - River Sunset
Lets sit on a dock along the Intracoastal Waterway, sip a beer, and watch the sun sink in to the trees. Filmed in Flagler Beach Florida.

Brown Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets and American Flamingos enjoy a pampered life at Homosassa State Park on Florida's west coast. The Great Egret is the largest all white heron in Florida, seen here with flowing white plumes.

Grab your fishing pole, and join us on this quiet lake deep in the woods of north central Florida.

Beautiful shells are washed by the warm waters of the Gulf Of Mexico near St. George Island, in the Florida panhandle.

You can meet this friendly Blue and Gold Macaw in person at the Alligator Farm Zoological Park in St. Augustine Florida. Or you can stay right where you are, and watch this video.


37 - Great Egret
The Great Egret is the largest all white heron in Florida. The males build the nests and then attract females. Once hunted almost to extinction, they are now protected and populations have rebounded.


38 - Lots Of Gulls!
A large colony of gulls hides from bitter winter winds behind the jetty at Ft. Clinch State Park, on the northeast corner of Florida.


39 - River Colors
Enjoy an artist's palette of colors on the Suwannee River in north Florida.


40 - Manatees In Spring
They're so cute! They're so big! A moma manatee and her baby enjoy the warm waters of Fanning Springs, a few yards from the Suwannee River in north Florida.


41 - Atlantic Sunrise
The sky and ocean erupt in color as another day breaks over Flagler Beach Florida.


42 - River Rapids
One of our favorite clips of the Big Shoals river rapids on the Suwannee River in north Florida. It's a crisp clear winter day, and beautiful blue water cascades over colored leaves and algae attached to rocks below the surface.


43 - River Rapids
Florida is a flat state, and thus the Class 3 rapids at Big Shoals state park are a big thrill for we flatlander Floridians. Viewers from other states are allowed to snicker, we don't mind.


44 - Manatees
Manatees come to the surface to breath every three to five minutes. If your own nose was 6 inches over the surface when they came up, this is what you'd see.


45 - Shore Surf
We just can't get enough time at the beach. The sound and sight of the surf breaking upon the shore is nature's best medicine.
